The Iranian minister of Agricultural Jihad, Mahmoud Hojjati is the most distinguished Iranian official who will be present at the ceremony along with some of his deputies. The ministry would also host the meeting.
The theme for this year’s World Food Day is ‘Biodiversity for Food Security’. It will be celebrated by 186 nations all over the world.
Iran, which is famous for climatic diversity, is the habitat of different types of herbal species (approximately 12,000 species) thanks to its rich soil. Researches say that it is capable of producing up to 200 million tons of agricultural products in the next 17 years.
