The festival will be examining both Iranian and foreign plans on scientific and industrial research devised by inventors and researchers and will be awarding prizes to for the best plans.
The Postal Service of the Islamic Republic also plans to issue stamps to commemorate the occasion.
This year, the plans of foreigners are also being studied in order to upgrade the scientific level of the festival. UNESCO, UNDP, and other international organizations will also be awarding prizes.
The first film ever made about the life of Khwarizmi will also be screened at the seminar.
Khwarizmi (circa 780–850 C.E.) was a noted Iranian mathematician and astronomer.
The event will be held during the Ten-Day Dawn celebrations (February 1-10) held to commemorate the victory of the Islamic Revolution in 1979.
