Resolution on Iran’s nuclear program unlikely: IAEA diplomats

VIENNA, Sept. 11 (MNA) -- Diplomats based at the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) headquarters in Vienna have welcomed Iran’s full cooperation with the IAEA and the settling of misunderstandings between Iran and the agency, noting that Iran’s nuclear dossier should be immediately removed from the agenda of the IAEA Board of Governors.

Some of those diplomats told the Mehr News Agency that they believe that, in light of the recent breakthrough in the IAEA-Iran relationship and the extensive IAEA inspections in Iran, there is no justification for drafting a resolution on Iran’s nuclear dossier and it is not unlikely that the IAEA Board will only issue a statement in this regard.

They are predicting that the IAEA Board will probably issue a statement asking Iran to continue its cooperation with the UN nuclear agency.

The next session of the 35-nation IAEA Board of Governors opens in Vienna on September 13.
