Iranian Illustrators Society Honoring Two Artists

TEHRAN April 12 (MNA) -- The Children’s Book Illustrators Society said on Monday that an exhibition of children’s book illustrations was running at the Iranian Artists Forum to honor two veteran Iranian illustrators: Gholamali Maktabi and Janet Mikhaili.

“The exhibition displays the 30 years of professional career accomplishments by these two artists,” the society said in the announcement.

 

Maktabi, 70, acquired his painting education in France. A university professor, he has illustrated more than 50 books.

 

Born in 1936, Mikhaili’s illustrations have adorned over 10 children’s books.

 

The exhibition will continue until April 15th.

 

The Iranian Children’s Book Illustrators Society was established in 2003 by pioneers like Farshid Mesqali, Nureddin Zarrinkelk, Mohammad-Ali Bani-Asadi, Firuzeh Golmoahammadi, and Mehrnush Ma’sumian. The society has 65 members.
