Iran, which had snatched two bronze medals in the first day of the competition by Mohsen Hajipour and Abdolmohammad Papi, wrapped up the championship with four gold, one silver and two bronze medals, securing 65 points.
The two-day competitions were held at the Yunusabad Sports Complex in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
Host Uzbekistan finished at the second place with 50 points bagging one gold medal and one silver medal followed by South Korea that came third with 49 points. The Koreans won three silver medals.
In the 66kg class, Iran’s Ali Mohammadi beat Kim Min-Chul from South Korea and claimed a gold medal. Beibit Nugumanov from Kazakhstan and Japan’s Hiroyuki Shimizu jointly claimed the bronze.
Mohsen Ghasemi earned Iran’s second gold by beating Kim Jin-Hyeok from South Korea in the 74kg class. The bronze medal went jointly to Beibit Nugumanov from Kazakhstan and Azizbek Murodov from Uzbekistan.
In the 84kg class, Iran’s Davoud Akhbari defeated South Korean Cho Hyo-Chul to seize the gold. Duan Ning from China and Rustam Sultonov of Uzbekistan won the bronze.
Davoud Gil-Neirang earned a silver medal after being beaten by Evgeniy Achkasov from Uzbekistan in the 96kg class. The bronze medal was awarded to An Chang-Gun from South Korea and Jordanian Yahia Abu-Tabeekh.
In the 120kg class, Bashir Babajanzadeh collected Iran’s fourth gold in the event by defeating Meng Qiang of China. The bronze medal went to Ali Nadhim from Iraq and Murat Ramanov from Kyrgyzstan.
