Iran has made great advances in aerospace industry: official

TEHRAN, March 1 (MNA) – Jahangir Jeddi, an advisor at Iran’s Aerospace Technology Committee, said on Tuesday that Iran has made significant progress in aerospace industry.

Jeddi enumerated the major achievements made by Iranian scientists and engineers in the area of aerospace over the past years.

“Designing and building the third generation of Fateh 110 defense missile system, manufacturing the first domestically made jetfighter called Karrar, building Safir B1 satellite carrier, and Kavoshgar 4 rocket are among the most important achievements of our researchers,” Jeddi told a conference on aerospace in Tehran.

It is the government’s policy to support researchers and scientists who work on aerospace technology, he stated.

Elsewhere in his remarks, he said the Iranian government has special plans in three areas of aviation, aerospace, and missile systems.

Plans for putting satellites into orbit, sending astronauts into outer space, and improving the country’s missile capacities are high on the agenda, he noted.

He added, “The deterring power of the country should be improved to the level that no county dares to conceive of launching war against Iran.”
