Intl. festivals to assay Iran’s “Gold and Copper”

TEHRAN, Aug. 9 (MNA) -- The movie “Gold and Copper” by Iranian director Homayun As’adian will be participating in several international festivals over the next few months.

“Copper and Gold” features the story of Seyyed Reza who travels to Tehran with his family where he finds out about his wife Zahra’s disease. He has to change his life to accommodate new realities.

The movie received a new award named “Path of the Prophets” at the 28th Fajr International Film Festival last year.

The film will go on screen at the Batumi International Art-House Film Festival which will be held from September 12 to 19 in Batumi, Georgia.

The 29th Vancouver International Film Festival will also screen the film. The festival will be held from September 30 to October 15.

“Gold and Copper” will also participate at the Anaheim International Film Festival (AIFF) which will take place from October 13 to 17.

Some film experts believe that “Gold and Copper” is a propaganda film with little chance for international screening, international film distributor Mohammad Attebaii told the Persian service of ISNA.

“However, the human aspects of the film attracted the festivals’ directors, so this is a promising beginning for the movie’s international screening,” he added.

Negar Javaherian, Behruz Shoeibi, Javad Ezzati, Sahar Dolatshahi and Reza Radmanesh star in the film.
