Azar Yazdi resumes writing “Good Stories for Good Children”

TEHRAN, July 8 (MNA) -- Mehdi Azar Yazdi’s volumes nine and ten of “Good Stories for Good Children” are being prepared for publication in late December, he said during his meeting with children’s book author Mostafa Rahmandust and Amir Kabir Publications managing director Ahmad Nesari last week, Rahmandust told MNA on Tuesday.

Azar Yazdi published eight volumes of the collection before the Islamic Revolution (1979). The proposed book was to be ten volumes. He collected notes on last two volumes during the past 30 years but he did not compile the notes for publication for a number of reasons, Rahmandust added.

Nesari promised to release the book at the 22nd Tehran International Book Fair (TIBF) in early May 2009.

Rahmandust went on to say that the volume 9 will be dedicated to luminaries’ stories and volume ten will contain stories narrated in verse.

The book series is a collection of written tales based on classical Persian works that provides children with access to some of the great works of Persian literature, such as the Gulistan (The Rose Garden), the Masnavi-ye Manavi, the Marzban-Nameh, the Sinbadnameh, and some stories from the Holy Quran and the life of the Prophet Muhammad (S) and his Household (AS).
