Iranian cartoonist awarded at ISDT

TEHRAN, Sept. 1 (MNA) -- The Iranian cartoonist Mohammad-ali Khalaji has recently won a prize in the Fontanarrosa section of the Buenos Aires’ International Salon Diogenes Taborda(ISDT) visual art festival.

 

Eilya Tahamtani was highly commended in the Humorous Graphic Monocolor section.

 

The gala comprised various sections for talented painters, photographers, sculptors, printers and humorists.

 

 

Bokhara to honor Annemarie Schwarzenbach

 

TEHRAN -- The Bimonthly Bokhara is to pay tribute to Annemarie Schwarzenbach at the Iranian Artists Forum on September 5.

 

Annemarie Schwarzenbach (1908 - 1942) was a writer, photographer and traveler. She started writing journalistic and literary works whilst still a student. Her first six-month trip took her to Beirut, Jerusalem, Baghdad, and Tehran. Schwarzenbach died in Switzerland at the age of 35 following a cycling accident.

 

Philip Volti, Swiss ambassador in Iran, Alexis Schwarzenbach, Mahshid Mirmoezzi and Saeid Firuzabadi will be making speeches about her life and works during the event.

 

Iranian photos selected for DASK DOGAY

 

TEHRAN -- 19 Iranian photographers’ works have recently been selected for entry in the DASK- DOGAY 2007 photo competition in Turkey.

 

120 works have been selected from 5000 entries by 126 photographers from around the world for the competition section of the event.
