Speaking at the begining of the Expediency Council on Sunday, Ayatollah Larijani declared the failure of the US and the Zionist regime to achieve their goals (toppling of the government, dividing Iran, destruction of the armed forces, missile power and nuclear technology).
He saidtat, "The Iranian nation and armed forces are standing at the Strait of Hormuz, and the sovereignty of this waterway is with the Islamic Republic. We will not retreat regardless of any cost. The Strait of Hormuz will not return to its pre-war status. If they want free navigation, they must comply with the terms of the memorandum of understanding."
