A candidate for Iraq’s upcoming legislative elections was assassinated at dawn on Wednesday in a car bomb attack in northern Baghdad, alongside two others, Rudaw reported.
Safaa al-Mashhadani, a member of Baghdad’s provincial council, was assassinated in the Tarmiah area of the Taji district, where a sticky bomb had been attached to his vehicle during a field tour.
All three individuals in the car were killed in the explosion, according to the reports.
