The Palestinian Resistance Movement Hamas issued a statement on the occasion of the prisoner exchange between Palestinian resistance forces and the Israeli regime, announcing that the al-Qassam Brigades and resistance units in the Gaza Strip are set to release 20 Israeli captives held by the resistance. This action is part of implementing the first phase of Trump’s plan to halt the war in Gaza.
The statement emphasized Hamas’s commitment to its obligations and highlighted the importance of mediators’ efforts in compelling the Zionist enemy to fulfill its commitments under the agreement and complete all its provisions.
It added, “The release of our heroic prisoners, including those sentenced to life imprisonment and long-term sentences who have spent decades behind bars, is the result of the heroism and steadfastness of our great nation in Gaza and its brave resistance members. This loyalty to the people and our prisoners embodies the will for freedom that will not break in the face of the oppression of the new Nazis.”
Hamas further stated that Netanyahu and the Israeli army, despite two years of genocide and destruction in Gaza, failed to secure the release of their captives by force and were ultimately compelled to surrender to the conditions set by the resistance.
