A security official from the al-Jolani regime claimed in an interview with Al Jazeera that shelling by the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) on residential areas in Aleppo killed three security personnel and wounded several others.
According to SANA, the regime’s official news agency, the Syrian Ministry of Defense has begun repositioning troops and military equipment in several northern and northeastern sectors of the country.
SANA claimed that SDF forces targeted the neighborhoods surrounding Sheikh Maqsoud and al-Ashrafiyeh with mortar fire and heavy machine guns.
However, the SDF-affiliated media outlet Hawar News offered a completely different version of events, reporting that it was the forces of the Syrian transitional government — not the SDF — that launched mortar and heavy machine-gun fire targeting the Sheikh Maqsoud and al-Ashrafiyeh neighborhoods in Aleppo.
