President receives credentials of new Ukrainian ambassador

TEHRAN, April 22 (MNA) -- President Mahmud Ahmadinejad received the credentials of the new Ukrainian ambassador to Iran, Ihor Lohinov, here on Sunday.

Ahmadinejad stated that Ukraine is a large country with cultured people.

 

He also expressed hope that the Ukrainian government would be able to overcome the current problems and succeed in its plans for the development of the country.

 

 

 

He said Iran’s foreign policy is to develop clear, stable, and long-lasting relations with different countries and emphasized the importance of practical moves to implement the bilateral agreements of Iran and foreign countries including Ukraine.

 

The Ukrainian ambassador stated that the development of relations with Iran is very important for Ukraine.

 

Calling Iran one of Kiev’s most important trade partners, he said that Ukraine is interested in increasing trade with the Islamic Republic to the level of one billion dollars per year.
