Iran’s vegetable oil exports up 8%

TEHRAN, March 4 (MNA) — Iran has exported 74,000 tons of vegetable oil during the first nine months of the current Iranian year (started March 21, 2006), indicating an eight percent rise compared with the corresponding period last year, the official news agency IRNA reported Sunday.

 

During the same period, the country has produced over 1.2 million tons of vegetable oil, showing a two percent growth compared with the similar period last year.

 

Moreover, vegetable oil producing plants have supplied over 1.1 million tons, having a three percent increase in comparison with identical period in the previous year.

 

Textile, carpet exports earn Iran $1b

 

TEHRAN — The value of textile products and hand-woven carpet exports has reached $1 billion during the first nine months of the current Iranian year (started March 21, 2006), an official with Ministry of Industries and Mines said here on Sunday.

 

The figure has grown by 15 percent when compared to the corresponding period last year, Hushang Qaderian, the director general of Weaving Industry Department at the ministry told IRNA.

 

He also said that the export of clothing and hand-woven carpets is expected to touch $1.2 billion by the end of this Iranian year, falling on March 20, 2007.

 

This would be an increase by 20 percent compared with last Iranian year, Qaderian noted. 

 

NISOC crude production exceeds objectives 

 

AHVAZ, Khuzestan Prov. — Crude oil production by the National Iranian South Oil Company (NISOC) has exceeded planned figure in the current Iranian year, NISOC managing director said here on Sunday.

 

The company’s crude oil production has surpassed 21,000 barrels per day (bpd), Seifollah Jashnsaz explained, without mentioning the planned figure.

 

He also said that NISOC has produced 100 million cubic meters of natural gas per day during the same period. “Out of it, 70 million cubic meters has been injected into oilfields, with the rest delivering to the National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC).”

 

Janshsaz described the company’s performance in drilling operations as satisfactory as well.

 

NISOC is affiliated to the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC), working on onshore oil and gas projects in southern regions of Iran.
