70% of Gaza hospitals forced to close following heavy attacks

TEHRAN, Dec. 04 (MNA) – Seventy percent of hospitals in the besieged Gaza Strip have ceased operations following the Israeli regime's heavy bombardment of the Palestinian territory.

Hossam Khalifa, who heads the assessment team at the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics, made the announcement in an interview on Sunday.

He added that the Israeli regime's indiscriminate strikes on Gaza have resulted in the partial or total destruction of 250,000 of the territory's 400,000 housing units.

Khalifa said the economic losses inflicted on the Gaza Strip due to Israel's genocidal war reached $700 million in October.

The media office of the Hamas Islamic Resistance Movement announced on Sunday that Israel's strikes against the Gaza Strip had killed over 700 civilians over the past 24 hours.

Israel started the war on Gaza on October 7 after the territory’s Palestinian Resistance movements launched the surprise Operation al-Aqsa Storm against the occupying entity in response to the regime’s decades-long campaign of bloodletting and devastation against Palestinians.

According to Gaza’s health ministry, more than 15,500 Palestinians have been killed and over 41,300 others wounded since the beginning of Israel’s genocidal war on the coastal territory.
