All JCPOA-related arms bans on Iran to end on Oct. 18

TEHRAN, Sep. 19 (MNA) – The spokesman of the Iranian government said Tuesday that all restrictions imposed on Iran as part of the 2015 Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) will automatically be lifted on October 18.

Ali Bahadori Jahromi also said that any other side's actions would receive Iran's proportionate and retaliatory response.

The spokesman was reacting to the E3's decision to keep the arms embargo on Iran .

"When it comes to the issues announced by the three European countries in relation to arms sales or military relations, we are not facing UN sanctions. We had accepted a series of restrictions in the framework of the JCPOA and as per that agreement those restrictions based on the provisions of the JCPOA must be removed on October 18 and these restrictions would expire automatically."

"After October 18, the restrictions imposed that are incorporated in the JCPOA will be removed automatically, and according to international law Iran can cooperate and interact with any country that is interested in interaction and cooperation," Bahadori Jahromi added.

The Iranian government spokesperson went on to stress that "Iran interacts with friendly countries in accordance with international laws within the framework of its interests."
