First rubber recycling plant comes on stream in Urmia

TEHRAN, Feb. 12 (MNA) -– Nation’s first rubber recycling factory, Pak-Zist Rubber Powder, became operational in Phase 2 of Urmia Industrial Park, general manager of West Azarbaijan Industries and Mines announced on Sunday.

According to the Persian service of ISNA, this plant processes worn-out tires into fibers, metals, recyclable caoutchouc and rubber powder in various sizes for making rubber flooring, mosaic, brick and mat to be used in sport, recreational, and other applicable places.

 

The factory, occupying an area of 5,600 square meters, has been build at a cost of 9.2 billion rials and is capable of recycling over 3,600 tons depleted tires per annum.
