Unique artworks on display at Razavi museum

TEHRAN, Feb. 6 (MNA) -- An exhibition of artworks entitled “Aquamarine Grief” is currently on display at Mashhad’s Astan-e Qods Razavi Museum, the public relations office of the museum announced on Monday.

“The works, including painting, needlework, filigree work, pearl work, sequin work, and intarsia which were created by Mahmud Farshchian, Hossein Qollar-Aqasi, Ahmad Razi, Shokuh Rashidi, Rezvan Ekhlasi, and other Iranian masters since the Qajar era, are on display in the Visual Arts Section of the museum,” the curator of the section said.

“In addition to Farshchian’s two works called ‘Ashura Evening’ and ‘The Gift of Love’, the exhibition features other rare works on the theme of Ashura (the day in which Imam Hussein {AS} and his companions were martyred),” Jamshid Amirian added.

He also described a 68x89 centimeter work depicting the events that happened shortly before Ashura, saying that it is made entirely of cut gems and translucent stones and is totally unique.

The Astan-e Qods Razavi Museum is home to unique and rare artworks by Iranian masters like Kamalolmolk.
