Vast part of the existing power network in the above regions, 20 kilovolts at total length of 3,400 KM, passes through agricultural area located in southeast Tehran’s periphery which makes the system prone to shutdowns and some irreparable damages caused by birds bumping into the network as well as collapse of trees and accumulation of pollutants.
Comprehensive studies conducted for prevention of such power failures have made the TSEPD install 10 auto recloser units on all the power feeders exposed to the said incidents. The action taken is part of the company’s short-term solution due to numerous existing feeders on this long network.
