TEHRAN, Dec. 26 (MNA) – Syrian air defense systems shot down Israeli missiles near the capital Damascus on Tuesday. According to SANA, the air defenses "intercepted hostile missiles launched by the Israeli warplanes" from the Lebanese territories, the majority of which were intercepted before reaching their targets. In October, Russia equipped the Syrian army with the advanced S-300 surface-to-air missiles to boost the country’s air shield power.
