Iran eying $20 bn trade volume with Iraq: official

TEHRAN, Oct. 22 (MNA) – Saeid Owhadi headed a delegation to Iraqi capital city of Baghdad and met with Iraqi minister of construction and housing and public municipalities on Sunday. 

“Iran is eyeing a prospect of $20 billion volume of trade with Iraq,” said Saeid Owhadi, the Secretary of Iran-Iraq Development Committee on Sunday while meeting with Iraqi Minister of Construction and Housing and Public Municipalities Ann Nafi Aussi Balbool.

Mr. Owhadi, who was accompanied by Iran’s ambassador to Baghdad in this meeting, stated that Iranian technical, engineering, and knowledge based companies and firms are ready to joint construction projects in Iraq.

Delivering the official invitation of Iranian Minister of Road and Urban Construction Abbas Akhoundi, Mr. Owhadi voiced hope to see the visit realized in the near future

A PhD holder in the major of civil engineering, Ms. Ann Nafi Aussi Balbool assumed the post of Iraqi Minister of Construction and Housing and Public Municipalities in al-Abadi’s government in 2016.
