AEOI head flies to Rome to attend Edoardo Amaldi Conf.

TEHRAN, Oct. 05 (MNA) – Ali Akbar Salehi, the head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI), flew to Italy to speak at the XXth Edoardo Amaldi Conference in Rome.

He is slated to meet and consult with Italian officials, as well as to visit the country’s nuclear facilities.

Iranian Vice President Ali Akbar Salehi is also scheduled to head for London, after Rome, upon the official invitation of British Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson. This is his second visit to Britain after the implementation of JCPOA.

AEOI head traveled to London a year ago in September to attend the annual meeting of World Nuclear Association Symposium, where he said, in a speech at the European Council on Foreign Relations, “we expect the other side to remain committed to its obligations regarding the removal of illegal sanctions.”

In the framework of ongoing cooperation, the Joint Research Centre (JRC) and the Accademia Nazionale dei Lincei are co-organising the XXth Edoardo Amaldi Conference - International Cooperation for Enhancing Nuclear Safety, Security, Safeguards and Non-Proliferation - 60 Years IAEA Atoms for Peace and Development and Euratom Treaty.

The XXth Edoardo Amaldi Conference will provide an important forum for experts and scientists to discuss different approaches and promote progress towards enhanced nuclear safety, security, safeguards and non-proliferation.
