DNO ASA submits study results on Iranian oilfield

TEHRAN, Aug. 13 (MNA) – DNO ASA, the Norwegian oil and gas operator, handed over outcomes of the study plan implemented in Changuleh oil field to the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC).

Jeroen Regtien, Chief Operating Officer of DNO International ASA, upon putting forward the comprehensive development plan for Iran’s Changuleh oilfield, stated “following the study MoU inked with NIOC in November 2016, a cohesive group was formed in a bid to provide and attractive and innovative design for development of the Iranian field by taking advantage of our experience and capabilities.”

Deputy Head of NIOC for Development and Engineering Affairs Gholamreza Manuchehri, for his part, expressed hope that submission of the study plan would lead to expansion of collaborations between Norway’s DNO ASA and the NIOC.

It was in November 2016 that the National Iranian Oil Company and DNO ASA signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) under which the Norwegian operator agreed to conduct development studies over Changuleh oil field. The cooperation agreement was sealed by Deputy NIOC Head Gholamreza Manuchehri and Bjorn Dale, CEO of the Norwegian firm.

Changuleh oil field is located 80 kilometers northwest of Dehloran city and situated at northwest part of North Dezful basin in Lorestan province. Discovered in 1999 but never developed, it is estimated to hold more than 2 billion barrels of oil-in-place.

DNO ASA is a Norwegian oil and gas operator focused on the Middle East-North Africa region and the North Sea.
