Iran condemns Damascus blast

TEHRAN, Jul. 03 (MNA) – Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson has strongly condemned terrorist explosion in Damascus.

Spokesman of Ministry of Foreign Affairs Bahram Ghasemi who was reacting this evening to a terrorist attack in Damascus which claimed lives of a number of people and left many casualties, strongly slammed killing and targeting of innocent civilians.

“Whenever efforts by countries friendly to Syria for decreasing tensions and beginning of negotiations seems promising and terrorist groups loose the ground, we witness such villain acts of blind terrorism against innocent civilians,” Ghasemi asserted.

Iranian official, meanwhile, expressed sympathy with Syrian nation and government and shared condolences with bereaved families of the victims of the terrorist attack. He also voiced hope that tourism would be soon uprooted in Syria and Iraq.

A suicide attack in central Damascus left at least 8 people dead and many others injured.
