He described Bahrain’s accusations a failed and shabby excuse to cover its internal problems; “Bahraini government has reportedly arrested a number of its nationals under the pretext of confronting terrorist cells claiming they were linked to the Islamic Republic of Iran.”
Ghasemi noted that the international community is well aware that the 6-year crisis in Bahrain is the result of the government’s security approach to the civil and peaceful protests of the majority of its people.
Foreign Ministry spokesman once again advised the Bahraini government to respond to international community's repeated recommendations to abandon the security approach to civil protests and to begin talks with popular opposition leaders instead of using outdated and ineffective policies of projection and accusing neighbors.
