Iran ‘big presence’ at 54th Bologna Children’s Book Fair

TEHRAN, Apr. 03 (MNA) – Iran is a big presence in this year’s Bologna Children’s Book Fair, the largest international trade show and book fair dedicated to children’s books, currently underway in Italy.

Bologna Children’s Book Fair, which kicked off today, is a 4-day event being held from 3 April to 6 April 2017 at the Bologna Fair Centre in Bologna, Italy. This event offers a great chance to discover the latest market trends in the book industry, and to meet the most important illustrators, authors etc. dedicated to children’s books.

Iran’s programs during the event include a special program called ‘Iran’s Day’, a program dedicated to introduction of Iranian culture, literature and illustration, followed by a lecture by Dr. Fatemeh Asgari (Faculty member of Foreign Languages at Tehran University) on the ‘translation of Pinocchio in Iran’. Two Italian illustrators, Simone Rea and Arianna Vairo will talk about their experiences while in Tehran. The two illustrators held a workshop at the Iran Cultural Fairs Institute in Tehran in January 27 and on the occasion of Italy being the guest of honor of the 30th Tehran International Book Fair. 65 Iranian titles dedicated to children’s books will be presented to visitors during the fair.

Catalonia and the Balearic Islands are Guests of Honor for the 2017 Bologna Children’s Book Fair.
