Concurrent with the 7th day of Fajr Decade, Iran’s Defense Minister Dehghan inaugurated production lines for five defense and combat achievements.
As quoted by Iran’s Ministry of Defence & Armed Forces Logistics, the five defensive military achievements include Fajr-5 guided rocket, Misagh-3 shoulder-fired weapon system, 40-mm grenade and advanced weapon launcher system, Masaf 5.56×45mm individual weapon and a national pistol.
The production lines for the new military attainments were unveiled at presence of Iran’s Defense Minister Brigadier General Hossein Dehghan in time with the 7th day of Farj Decade which marks the anniversary of the Islamic Revolution.
Speaking during the unveiling ceremony, Brig. Gen. Dehghan said in line with effective support of the Armed Forces in in ground combat and air defense, the Defense Ministry has designed and constructed production line of these advanced systems to take a huge leap towards strengthening the country's defense capability.
“The newly-inaugurated systems, in addition to boosting defense capabilities of armed forces in individual combats and air defense arenas, will also increase operational mobility of the forces to an unprecedented degree.”
The official highlighted that all new systems had been designed and manufactured by the Defense Ministry asserting “diversity of Iran’s defensive equipment is remarkable.”
He went on to note that by prioritizing research and development projects and future-oriented technologies, a total of 216 projects have been accomplished in recent years for expansion of technology, new products as well as infrastructures.
He evaluated the important defensive achievements and self-sufficiency in production of majority of items required by armed forces as worthy blessings of the Islamic Revolution which was led by Imam Khomeni and added “Ministry of Defense, in light of the Leader’s wise measures and despite , has managed to diplomatic and economic sanctions, has managed to strongly support armed forces by taking up the approach of Resistance Economy."
At the end of his remarks, Brig. Gen. Dehghan appreciated efforts made by experienced directors, experts and specialists of the ministry’s Defense Industries Organization (DIO) stressing “the Defense Ministry seeks to renovate weapons used by armed forces by reliance on domestic knowledge and capabilities."
