Iran’s FM Zarif, who is staying in the Lebanese capital of Beirut, attended a meeting with Iranian diplomats residing in the Arab country.
During a short speech, the official commemorated Iran's former Ambassador to Beirut Ghazanfar Roknabadi who was martyred in Mina Tragedy and touched upon the significance of Lebanon and its developments inside the region; “the consensus and political agreement achieved by Lebanese groups hold great importance and would not have been obtained in absence of the will of Lebanese people and all different groups.”
“Lebanon remains as the symbol of resistance and victory,” he continued asserting “we are all proud of the role played by Hezbollah and Lebanese Hezbollah Secretary General Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah who is symbolic of strength and resistance.”
The oppressed people of Yemen and Syria are paying for destructive political games launched in the region by certain states, said Zarif adding “the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), rather than creating power, prevented the country’s strength from being diminished by external forces which explains why certain world countries hold concerns over the newly-emerged situation.”
The Iranian FM pointed to the momentous and historic responsibility carried by Iran’s foreign relations practitioners saying “all moments and opportunities need to be wisely grasped in line with promotion of stability and progress in the region.”
“To this end, loyalty to ideals of late Imam Khomeini and remaining committed to orders of the Leader will pave the path for all of us in order to carry out our tasks in the current critical situation,” he concluded.
