Handicrafts exhibition opens in Kermanshah

TEHRAN, July 6 (MNA) -- An exhibition of traditional shoes and nomadic fabrics opened on July 5 at the historical complex of Taq-e-Bostan in Kermanshah Province, the Kermanshah governor announced on Tuesday.

Handicrafts Organization Deputy Director for Technical and Economic Affairs Nasrollah Sepehr, the Kermanshah governor, and several artisans of the region attended the opening ceremony.

Sepehr said that kilim and ghabbeh carpets have been primarily woven in Kermanshah Province for centuries and that is the reason why cultural officials selected the province to be the venue for the exhibition.

Works from fourteen provinces are currently on display in 50 tents at the exhibition grounds, which covers an area of over 3000 square meters.

The exhibition runs until July 9.
