Iran’s 'Red Elephant' to go on stage at Dutch festival

TEHRAN, Jun. 19 (MNA) – Directed by Morteza Mirmontazemi, the Iranian play ‘Red Elephant’ will vie at the International Theatre School Festival due in Amsterdam from June 22 to 30.

The play is the continuation of Mirmontazemi’s previous show Frequency performed in 2012 at Theatre Workshop in Tehran.

Red Elephant will have three runs in the Netherlands (Amsterdam) on 23th and 24th of June and two runs in France (Paris) on 28th and 29th of June. The show has not been performed in Iran yet, however, it is due to go on stage next year

Red Elephant narrates the story of a veteran commander back from war and is undergoing treatment at a psychiatric hospital where he meets different people in various situations.

Mohammad-Hossein Siahpush, Kaveh Marhamati and Sepideh Sabbagh are the three main cast members.

Red Elephant is scheduled to go on stage in Paris in late June. The play was warmly received in Tokyo last year.
