Terrorist groups breach Syrian ceasefire 10 times in 24 hours

LATTAKIA, Jun. 05 (MNA) – Terrorist groups breached the cessation of hostilities agreement in Syria 10 times in the past 24 hours, 8 in Aleppo and two in Damascus, raising the total number of breaches to 626 since the agreement came into effect on 27 February, the Russian Coordination Center said.

The center, based in Hmeimim airbase, added in a statement on Saturday that terrorists of the so-called Jaish al-Islam targeted the residential neighborhoods of al-Midan, al-Khalediya, Old city and al-Assad suburb in Aleppo city with mortar round and rocket launchers 2 times, as well as Masaken Barzeh and a number of farms in Damascus countryside.

The center said that the cessation of hostilities agreement is holding in most Syrian areas where the number of towns which have joined the cessation of hostilities agreement reached 133, while the number of armed groups which announced commitment to the agreement remained at 60.

Earlier Saturday, 17 civilians were killed and 124 were injured in terrorist rocket attacks on al-Midan, al-Faid, al-Hamadaniyeh, al-Ramousa, Saif al-Dawla, and al-Sleimaniye neighborhoods in Aleppo city.
