Speaking at the open session of the Parliament on Sunday morning, the Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijnai pointed to the Leader’s Nowruz message for Iranian New Year where he named the new Iranian year 1395 as the ‘Year of the Resistance Economy: Action and Implementation’ stating “the wise Leader of the Islamic Revolution has deemed economic empowerment as the country’s top priority which remains a very precise decisions.”
“Despite possessing a good deterrent power, adequate population, natural resources as well as efficient man power, Iran’s economic vulnerability remains an important issue,” he continued.
Larijani asserted that the Iranian Parliament considers Resistance Economy as the only way out of the existing problems as it has passed important rules in recent years to boost production and improve the business climate.
The official also appreciated the significant efforts made by various organizations specially the armed forces who offered valuable services to Nowruz travellers despite the turbulent atmosphere in countries like Turkey, Pakistan, Iraq and Belgium who suffered from terrorist attacks.
He expressed sympathy with those injured in the terrorist blasts saying “these disasters are rooted in the ignorance of many Western countries as well as Arab states in the region who have created terrorist groups in recent years in order to exploit them while those countries are currently faced with a large volume and variety of ‘dangerous creatures’.”
“The Islamic Republic of Iran had previously understood the risk and has fought with terrorist groups as it now helps Iraqi and Syrian governments in the fight against terrorism for them to maintain their security,” noted Larijani.
He referred to the country’s ballistic missile tests emphasizing “the clumsy and legally-narrow policy taken by some Western countries in recent Iranian missile issue is an indication of their long-term policy suggesting that they would not want Iran to bring about security to the region.”
“Consequently, we must strengthen the defense capability of the country especially with regard to the missile program,” underlined the official.
Iran’s Parliament Speaker pointed to the Nagorno-Karabakh clashes stating “we have witnessed fresh clashes in Azerbaijan-Armenia border in the last two days which have created new concerns in the region.”
Larijani urged the parliaments of Armenia and Azerbaijan to gain dominance on the new clashes in order to resolve the disputes through negotiations.
Touching upon the security crisis in Palestine, Ali Larijani said “the issue represents the fact that young Palestinians have lost their tolerance as a result of the extreme pressures of the Zionist regime.”
Larijani noted the use of stabbings for self-defense by the Palestinian youth; “the new approach has frustrated the Zionists increasing the hopes for victory.”
“The Iranian Parliament congratulates the people and government of Syria on the recent successes in the fight against terrorists and hopes that the deep developments will reveal the reality of the so-called peace negotiations set up by some Western and Arab countries,” concluded Larijani.
