Ali Akbar Shabanpour, Managing Director of Pars Oil and Gas Company (POGC), said great achievements were made in South Pars joint field in the previous Iranian calendar year including increased gas production as well as a boost in the extraction of gas condensate in the region.
The official pointed to the continuity in production as well as transfer of gas to the national grid without interruption in the previous year adding “increase in Iran’s share in the joint field marked one of the most important achievements in the past year.”
Shabanpour further referred to the ongoing efforts to raise the amount of gas production at South Pars field in the current year estimating that the phases 17, 18, 19, 20 and 21 will begin operation in the present year.
“The amount of gas production at South Pars moved up from 113 billion cubic meters in 2014 to a total of 130 billion cubic meters in 2015 indicating a 15-percent increase,” he added.
POGC managing director also maintained that the amount of gas condensate production at the field had risen from 104 million barrels to 120 million barrels in the same period representing a 15-percent boost.
“One of the most important measures taken to complete the developmental projects at South Pars field has been prioritizing of phases which helped speed up the implementation of the projects,” Shabanpour concluded.
