Qeshm-Muscat flight path to be launched

TEHRAN, Feb. 09 (MNA) – Qeshm Air CEO has announced the plan to launch Qeshm-Muscat flight path upon the arrival of new aircraft.

Speaking at the ceremony for opening four new flight paths from Qeshm Island, Mahmoud Shekarabi asserted “Qeshm Air began career in the year 2001 with two aircraft.”

“The airliner became a part of Iranian Naft Airlines after Sorinet Aviation Holding bought the Qeshm airlines in 2012,” he continued.

Shekarabi went on to add that “currently, a total of 19 domestic destinations and 14 intenrational destinations are covered by Qeshm Air while new destinations have been put on the agenda.”

“Upon the arrival of new aircraft, the Qeshm-Muscat flight will also be launched,” stressed the official.

Shekarabi noted that the airliner possesses a total of 21 airplanes consisting of four Fokker-50, four Fokker-100, three Airbus-320 as well as five Airbus-300-600.

He pointed out the holding of five RG English aircraft the parts of which needs to be imported from Britain causing difficulties in securing parts; “however, with the help of the Iranian technical staff, one aircraft entered the company’s flight operations.”

Referring to the monthly figure of 60 domestic and 30 foreign flight sorties from the source of Qeshm Island, the official said “fortunately, with the establishment of new flights the monthly flight statistics will experience a 32-percet growth and the total number of flights per months will reach 90.
