JCPOA prepares ground for new regional cooperation

TEHRAN, Jan. 17 (MNA) – Iran’s Secretary of Supreme National Security Council Ali Shamkhani said the implementation of JCPOA and the removal of illegal restrictions will prepare the ground to take new steps in regional and international cooperation.

Shamkhani made the remarks in a meeting with visiting National Security advisor of the Iraqi government Faleh Fayyaz here on Sunday.

“United and integrated Iraq will soon be back to its rightful place in the political, economic and security arena, at the regional and international level,” he underlined.

Shamkhani said the constant achievements by Iraqi Army and civil forces against Takfiri terrorism is the result of an improvement in security and political integrity, influence of informed religious figures, intelligent leadership and the resistance of Iraqi nation.

Underlining Iran’s strategic priorities in the field of all-out relations with neighboring countries, Shamkhani said the implementation of JCPOA and elimination of illegal restrictions on foreign relations have paved the way for new regional and international cooperation for the country.

Faleh Fayyaz, for his part, felicitated the Iranian nation and government for the great success in diplomacy and implementation of JCPOA and said, “Today, Iran’s unmatched, strong strategic role in establishing peace and security in the region is well proven.”

He underlined that Iraq has taken great steps to destroy the terrorists in its soil and to clear the land from the filth of ISIL crimes.

National Security advisor of the Iraqi government expressed the hope on the development of economic, security and cultural relations between the two countries and said Iraq appreciates Iran’s efforts for the reconstruction of Iraq’s damaged infrastructure.

“Exceptional and constructive relations between Iran and Iraq can be extended as the successful role model of the ties between other countries in the region,” he concluded.
