Iran, 5+1 hold meeting on sanctions removal

TEHRAN, Nov. 14 (MNA) – The consultative meeting of EU and US with Iran on drafting the text of instructions and statements related to sanctions removal under the JCPOA was held in Geneva.

During the 9-hour meeting attended by representatives of European Union and the US as well as a group comprising Iranian lawyers and representative of Iran's Central Bank, the framework for instructions that the American and European sides will issue for the implementation of their commitments under the JCPOA were discussed.

At the meeting which was held in the Swiss city of Geneva, the Iranian delegation highlighted the need for setting executive instructions for lifting sanctions by the deadline, and presented certain proposals to be included in the text of the instructions.

Iran and the 5+1 group of countries are obliged to perform their commitments before the day of JCPOA implementation on December 15. Under the JCPOA, limits will be put on Iran’s nuclear activities in exchange for, among other things, the removal of all nuclear-related economic and financial bans against the Islamic Republic.

The IAEA’s final PMD report on Iran’s nuclear program will be released and resolved most probably on 2 December, 13 days ahead of the extraordinary session of the IAEA Board of Governors during which the 5+1 countries will introduce their resolution.
