The Asian sector of the festival seeks to improve cultural relations of Asian countries; according to timetable, 13 Asian short films will compete for the prize. Taiwan, India, Japan, Korea, and Singapore each have two works and China, Turkey, and Iran each with single short film will be present in the section.
‘A Long Day’ directed by Cenk Erturk for Turkey; ‘A Parting Gift’ by Gauri Warudi for India; ‘Elegy’ by Yousef Kargarf for Iran; ‘Before the Full Moon Returns’ by Lu Danliewen for China; ‘Broken Maiden’ by Maxim Dashkin for Singapore; ‘Electric Town’ by Tony Mullen for Japan; ‘Heer’ by Honey Singh also for Singapore; ‘Honey Trap’ by Mo Sha for South Korea; ‘Rumah’ by Yosep Anggi Noen for Japan; ‘Sisyphus at Work’ by Seongmo Song again for South Korea; ‘The Identity’ by Subhamoy Chatterjee for India (second); ‘The Island’ by C. Jay Shih for Taiwan; and ‘The Lobster Kid’ by Chen Chieh Joseph Hsu again for Taiwan have been announced by the event official website as participating in the festival.
Tehran International Short Film Festival has kicked off in October 12 and will continue to October 18.
