INSF, France's EPHE to start collaboration

TEHRAN, Oct. 13 (MNA) – Pursuing the policy of expanding international collaborations, INSP head Zargham, met with Dr. Hubert Bost, president of Ecole Pratique des Hautes Études (EPHE) on Sunday.

During the meeting, Dr. Zargham provided a brief review of his foundation’s international collaborations, and highlighted the fundamental policy of Iran National Science Foundation (INSF) in utilizing the maximum national and international scientific and financial resources.

EPHE’s president explained the research activities of his institution and emphasized the EPHE’s potential in collaborating with Iranian scholars in various fields of study.

At the end of the meeting, the two parties discussed the possible areas of cooperation, and decided to hold a joint conference in the near future in order to pave the way for further collaborations.

Established in 1868, EPHE is a leading institution of higher education and research, which provides highly specialized practical training in basic and applied research in a wide range of disciplines. Headquartered in Paris, it is present in many locations in France bringing together 260 faculty members and about 2500 students into three core sections: Earth and Life Sciences; Historical and Philological Sciences; Religious Sciences. Renowned orientalists and/or Iranologists such as Henry Corban, Émile Benveniste, Georges Dumezil, Louis Massignon, and Jean de Menasce are among EPHE’s alumni.
