In separate messages on Wednesday, President Rouhani extended his felicitations to the Muslim leaders and nations, expressing hope for the promotion of peace and security among Muslim states.
“In the guiding light of Quran and following the tradition of the Prophet of kindness (PBUH), and during the times that humanity needs peace and security more than any other time, I am hopeful that we can contain bloodshed, violence and extremism through growing empathy, fraternity and friendship and bestow peace, security and spirituality upon the Islamic Ummah and all human community,” the Iranian president said.
The president further wished good health, success, prosperity and dignity for all Muslim governments and nations.
Millions of Muslims around the world attend Eid al-Adha’s prayers. In Iran, people from different walks of life go to mosques to participate in the day's special prayers. A mass prayer is also held in the Iranian capital, Tehran, which will be attended by people and high-ranking officials.
