Bolivia's Morales to attend GECF meeting in Tehran

TEHRAN, Aug. 29 (MNA) – Bolivian President Evo Morales will pay an official visit to Tehran to attend a meeting of Gas Exporting Countries Forum due to be held in November.

President Hassan Rouhani's special envoy Amir Hossein Zamaninia on Friday submitted President Rouhani's official invitation to his Bolivian counterpart Evo Morales to attend the 3rd GECF meeting in Tehran in November.

The Bolivian president welcomed the invitation and said he will attend the meeting.

Before the gas meeting is held, Iran will submit official invitations to the presidents of Qatar, Egypt, Bolivia, Libya, Equatorial Guinea, Nigeria, and Trinidad and Tobago, as main members of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF), and the Netherlands, Kazakhstan, Peru and Norway, as observer members of the Forum.

The 3rd meeting of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum is due to be held in the Iranian capital in late November.

The Forum has 18 main and observer members and its permanent secretariat is located in Qatar’s capital city, Doha.
