Cleric calls for shia-sunni unity

TEHRAN, Aug. 07 (MNA) – In Tehran Friday prayers, Ayatollah Kashani stressed the importance of Shia-Sunni unity to expose enemies’ lies.

Tehran weekly ritual of Friday prayers was held in Imam Khomeini’s Grand Musalla while the interim leader of prayer Ayatollah Mohammad Imami Kashani led the worshippers and delivered the sermons.

Ayatollah Imami Kashani greeted the Iranian negotiation team for all their efforts and patience in the course of talks and hoped for good results as expected by all Iranians.

He also restated Iran’s Foregn Minister Mohammad-Javad Zarif’s reaction to false claims made by westerners and invited the opposite side of the table to change their approach toward Iran and avoid the mistakes they made in the past.

Pointing to claims and threats made by the 'foes,' the top cleric urged the nation to work hard in implementing new economic policies of Iran’s leader dubbed 'the resisting economy' to ruin the hopes of ill-intentioned enemies of the Islamic Republic.

Addressing the US government and president, he also added that Al Saud regime, Zionist regime, and ISIL are the three legs of the same triangle supported by US and called the US the biggest supporter of terrorism in the world, deriving from western arrogance and exploitation.

Stressing the necessity of unity among all Muslims, Ayatollah Imami called for fraternity among Shias and Sunnis as the decisive defense against divisive policies of the enemies of the peace in the region.
