Heads of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) will hold a meeting on Muslim world issues in the Indonesian capital this afternoon which President Rouhani has deemed particularly critical given the current regional situation.
Rouhani will chair the second session of the Asia-Africa Conference which will take place this afternoon and will express the Islamic Republic of Iran’s stance on the most important issues regarding the region and the Muslim world.
Iran currently holds the rotating presidency of Non-Aligned Movement (NAM), an international organization with 120 member states that is not formally aligned with or against any major power bloc.
Rouhani is also scheduled to hold bilateral meetings with heads of 10 participating countries in AAC. Meetings with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and Chinese President Xi Jinping are on his agenda this afternoon.
