In a meeting with the families of Tir 7th martyrs, Ayatollah Khamanei said that “the enemy invests in proxy wars in the region and hopes for incitement of war between Shiites and Sunnis.”
Leader addressed the meeting, asserting that Islamic Awakening was enemy’s fears to confront which it hoped for a Shiite, Sunni war.
Ayatollah Khamenei said that “the second factor is remains of Saddam regime with help of Baathist elements commit crimes in Iraq; but what is going on is not a Shiite-Sunni fighting; rather, it is a war between terrorists and anti-terrorists, a war between west-affiliated forces in the country.”
Pointing to Tir 7th of 1360 AH (June 28th , 1981) event, Leader said the event was momentous and unforgettable, adding that thinking about the event shows that imperialism could not stand rationale of the Islamic Revolution and Imam Khomeini so they organized terrors inside the country.
“Tir 7th exposed lies by the so-called human rights supporters in the West. They embraced the terrorists who made terrorist attacks in Iran and condemned Iran who has been itself a victim of terrorism and human rights exploitation,” said the leader.
