Hajottoleslam Khamoshi appointed Dr Ali Askari, a former member of board of directors of the news agency, as the new director of Mehr News Agency and Tehran Times.
Dr. Asgari is a general practitioner and has served in different governmental posts such as the head of Tehran Municipality Cultural deputy, the director of National Youth Studies Center, and deputy-minister of Culture and Islamic guidance, to mention a few.
He has written some books including Islamic Revolution Cultural Achievement, The Future of Revolution, Municipality in the view of the Leader, and newspaper articles such as ‘A General Pathology of Mass Culture in Iran,’ ‘ The Futuristic Strategy of the Islamic Republic,’ ‘Islamic Revolution and Structural Modifications of Russian Translation,’ to cite a few.
Former head of the Mehr News and TT Reza Moqaddasi has resigned for health reasons. He has reportedly a heart condition.
He was appointed 3 and half years ago. Among initiatives Moqaddasi launched are establishment of a polling center, development an improved version of the software and electronic Mehr Magazine (mainly intended to target public audience via a novel fashion), and Mehr honorary correspondence center, and securing the publishing permit for Mehr News.
