TEHRAN, July 26 (Mehr News Agency) – International tender to explore Koopal, Aghajari, and Maroon oilfields is to be put out soon, an informed source in National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) said here Saturday.

The aim is to choose a qualified contractor to carry out three-dimensional seismic studies.

The source said that exploration activities are divided into buyback, feasibility study, and task-basis sections. Exploration operations on Anadegan, Mehr, Monir, Zavareh, Kashan, and Farsi projects would take place on a buy-back basis, he added.

Exploration activities on Ramin, Maroon, Hosseinieh, Lavan, and Azadagan projects would be performed jointly with other companies involved in oil recovery business on a task-basis method, the expert said.

Iranian companies are in possession of up-to-date technology due to working with foreign companies, “but not having enough of these companies together with a large volume of work are the main barriers in implementing oil projects,” the source claimed.
