TEHRAN, Aug. 16 (MNA) -- Iranian female football team, Malavan Bandar Anzali, won the championship of the Fifth National Women’s Football Championship held in Islamabad, Pakistan, last week.

In a one-side match on late Tuesday night, the Iranian team thrashed Punjab University's Sports Sciences Department, 11-0 after 7-0 up at interval and clinched the championship.

 

The Malavan Bandar Anzali female team scored 68 goals while no goals were scored against it in the tournament.

 

Midfielder Hajar Shahmalekpour, recorded three goals in the 56th, 59th and 68th minutes, was the main goal scorer for the Iranian team. 

 

Spearhead Fereshteh Karimi, with two goals in the first five minutes, and Skipper Maryam Irandost with other two goals in the 26th and 37th minutes and Neda Abdollahzadeh (30th min), Sara Ghomi Marzdahti (35th min), Fatemeh Arzhangi (43rd min) and Sepideh Nazhati (70th min) were the remaining goal scorers for the Malavan Bandar Anzali Female Team.

 

The championship was held at the Jinnah Stadium, Pakistan Sports Complex, from July 29 to August 11, 2009.

 

Pakistan National Women’s Football Championship was created in 2005 by the Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) to bring competitive women's football to Pakistan annually.
