Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, traveled to Banjul, the capital of Gambia, to attend the 15th summit of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) on Saturday morning.
During his visit, he met with his Gambian counterpart, Mamadou Tangara, and held talks with him.
Amir-Abdollahian expressed his gratitude to the Gambia for successfully hosting the 15th summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.
He also expressed his hope that the outcome of the summit would be beneficial for the Islamic Ummah.
Tangara, on his part, thanked the Iranian diplomat for attending the Banjul summit and called for strengthening friendly ties and cooperation between the Gambia and big Islamic countries such as Iran.
Earlier on Saturday, the top Iranian diplomat held separate talks with his counterparts from Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Indonesia, Turkey, Bangladesh, Sudan, and Mali on the sidelines of the OIC summit.
