Cuba has concluded a contract with Wagon Pars Company (WPCO) for purchasing parts and repairing wagons, Bazrpash informed.
Iran's Minister of Roads and Urban Development said, "Cuba requested to use the capacity of ports and shipping of the Islamic Republic of Iran to export its products and transport its cargo, to which we agreed. So, it was decided that they visit Iran's ports".
Also in this meeting, the sister port agreement between the ports of the two countries was discussed so that Cuban businessmen and shipping companies could benefit from Iran's port facilities.
Referring to the requests of the Cuban counterpart to use Iran's engineering capacity for aircraft repairs, Bazrpash said, " It was decided that the agenda would be followed up by the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development through the Embassy of Cuba in Tehran."
As Iran, Cuba Joint Economic Commission (JEC) will be held next month in Havana, the agreements made in this meeting are the preparations for making key decisions during JEC, headed by Iran's Minister of Health and Medical Education, Bazrpash added.
In the meeting, Bazrpash considered the capacity of maritime transport of the two countries important and a very favorable opportunity for transporting Cuba's freights to the northern destinations through Iran's ports.
Pointing to the capacity of Iranian companies to export technical and engineering services for housing construction, and road and rail infrastructure, he said that considering that the infrastructure missions are followed up in another ministry in Cuba, Iranian companies can be introduced to Cuba's Ministries through the Embassy.
The Minister of Roads and Urban Development noted that Cuba is a respectable symbol of resistance against imperialism in the minds of the Iranians, and it is necessary to help it.
Eduardo Rodríguez Dávila, the Minister of Transportation of the Republic of Cuba, also stated that this visit was to follow up on the agreements made between the two countries in the past and planning for new projects.
