TEHRAN, Apr. 23 (MNA) – The Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) and the Iraqi National Security Adviser discussed in Saint Petersburg the security pact between the two neighbors

Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council Ali Akbar Ahmadian and Iraq’s National Security Advisor Qasim Mohammad Jalal al-Araji held talks in Russia's Saint Petersburg on Tuesday. 

In the meeting, Ahmadian and Al-Araji reviewed the implementation process of the Iran-Iraq security agreement and agreed to organize a meeting of the relevant committees as soon as possible.

Calling Iraq's relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran strategic, Al-Araji emphasized the implementation of the Iraqi parliament's decision to expel the US-led coalition military forces.

In the meeting, the Iraqi National Security Advisor expressed gratitude for the role of the Islamic Republic of Iran in maintaining the security of the region and creating peace and stability in the region.

The top Iranian security official is in Russia to attend the international meeting of high representatives responsible for security issues in St. Petersburg.
